We at Swemac Innovation develop and manufacture innovative solutions for fracture treatment and joint replacement, orthopaedic implants and instruments. The group distribute our own products across Scandinavia and Japan, and globally via distributors. We run our research & development (R&D) departments in Sweden and in Germany and our headquarters are in Linköping, Sweden. Swemac Innovation AB is expanding and facing a stage where our medical products must meet new regulatory requirements and at the same time we are breaking into new markets. In order to strengthen our R&D department for upper extremity products we are now recruiting a new team member in product design based in our Lidköping office.
In this role Your tasks will include:
. Precision mechanical design with CAD & FEA as important tools, where we are using Autodesk Inventor.
. Creating and keeping technical documentation up to date, from design specifications and risk management to verification and validation activities.
. Face lift updates and improvement work within existing product portfolio.
. Creation and realization of new product ideas in orthopedic surgery.
. Participation in validation activities at the head office in Linköping.
We are looking for a driven and passionate mechanical or design engineer with experience in mechanical engineering/product development or similar. For this position you need to have knowledge in general quality engineering, standards, and construction quality.
If you are genuinely interested and curious to learn more about anatomy, surgery technique, biomechanics, biomaterials, surface coatings and fine mechanics, this new position is an opportunity for you.
Previous professional experience is not a must but if you have experience from biocompatibility studies, clinical safety, or other areas within handling of sterile implants it is beneficial.Fluent written and spoken English and Swedish is a must. Responsiveness to the customer´s needs, especially regarding design and user friendliness will be valued.

The employment will involve some business travel to fairs, training sessions, supplier contact, customer visits and appointments at headquarters. The position is permanent and located at our R&D office in Lidköping, Sweden.
