Arbetsbeskrivning
As a Design Engineer at Thule you will be a part of the entire product development cycle from idea generation to industrialization, which gives a very good overview and strong ownership to the product you currently develop.
You will develop new products and components with high quality within targeted cost budget and time plans to meet market requirements of our consumers. You will also be evaluating technical solutions with respect to manufacturing methods, strength requirements, cost and aesthetics. You will work in project teams in close cooperation with Project Managers, Simulation Engineers, Test Engineers, Prototype Makers and other Design Engineers as well as other resources within Thule Group.
You will mainly work within our product category Sport & Cargo, with products like roof racks, roof boxes and roof top tents. Your tasks will be varied and consist of both 3D-CAD and other daily work tasks such as brainstorming sessions, searching information to support the construction, prototyping and analysis of test results. In your role it is important that you understand the outcome from analysis and tests and incorporate changes into the construction.
The candidate
You have an academic degree in engineering or equivalent documented experience and minimum 5 years relevant work experience. You are skilled in Solid Works, advanced part modelling and/or surface design. In addition to this you have knowledge of materials such as steel, aluminum and plastics. To succeed in this role we believe you are open-minded and like to collaborate with others. On the same time you are self-driven and can push your projects forward. Furthermore it is important to understand and contribute to good understandable drawings and specifications and parts that are easy to manufacture.

About our Global Product Development Department
Globally we are over 250 engineers out of the majority is working in our Global Product Development Center in Hillerstorp (Sweden). Our cross functional team consists of highly skilled and motivated members with a well-balanced variety of experiences. We are a truly global company with an international and multi-cultural team.
