About the position
Kongsberg Power Products Systems (KPPS) in Ljungsarp is part of Kongsberg Automotive group. This offers you as employee great opportunities to grow and develop on a global scale. The product development within Kongsberg Automotive is subject to global competition, with high demands on our performance.
Due to a very positive development of our business we need to increase the R&D capacity. The scope of work is design, development and test of the full product range on standard modular – as well as customized solutions. On a regular basis we also work with our customers and colleagues in Europe, North America and Asia on the global off-highway market. You are a part of a functional team that works with the full range from concept studies to product design and refinement of existing products. The position is based at KPPS facility in Ljungsarp Sweden, and is reporting to Engineering Manager Steering Columns.


Are You our new Design Engineer that will lead and drive our products into the future?


Responsibilities
• To be design responsible for mechanical and/or electro mechanical products
• To participate in or lead design projects
• Participate in and control prototype manufacturing
• To drive the development process
• To create, maintain and update related 3D and 2D data
• Create, maintain and update product specifications, based on existing modular program
• Participate in development and improvement of our work methodology
• Analyze and interpret customer requirements to determine feasibility of product proposals
• Maintain relation with internal and external customer engineers working on the product design
• Establish system design in order to re-use some as building block for other products, and improve the validation cycle
• Design / validate / launch variants of our modular system to support new sales opportunities
• Plan and develop experimental test programs, perform testing and write the reports
• Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications
Requirements
• MSc / BSc Engineering degree or similar, with mechanical or mechatronics orientation
• Good team player
• Innovative
• Not afraid to be hands-on (e.g. in prototype/test lab)
• CATIA V5 experience is an advantage
• Fluency in spoken and written English and Swedish is a must
