Arbetsbeskrivning
Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
We are now looking for design engineers, both senior and more novice, to join the challenge of developing the world’s best thermal management system for future Scania trucks! For electric trucks, a well-designed thermal management system is an essential part since many components are dependent on the correct thermal conditions to deliver customer value in terms of e.g. range and performance.
The Team
As the thermal management system is ranging over the entire truck, we are divided into sub-teams with defined responsibility areas. You will belong to the team designing the circuits for batteries and the electric powertrain.
The group consists of design engineers with a wide range of experience and backgrounds as well as a project manager who supports the team with planning and management of project risks. Our team is working closely together, enabling support between individuals in the daily work and continuous balancing within the team depending on expertise and workload. We strive for an open, easy-going climate where everyone feels safe and has fun at work since we are convinced this is the best way to get the most out of our ambitious and skilled team.
We believe in a good balance between work and personal life, offering a flexible work situation with the possibility to work approximately 50% at the office in Södertälje and 50% from home.
Your assignment
As a design engineer you will work with a large variety of tasks to take your parts from idea to final product. The daily work contains everything from 3D-modelling to coordinating with cross-functions to ensure function, producibility and quality of your parts. Our more experienced engineers usually get to take on additional responsibilities such as product ownership for a complete system, concept development, layout studies, or cross-functional problem-solving.
As we are looking to hire several designers, your particular assignments will be decided together with your manager and team leader depending on your previous experience. Regardless of which level you start at, we will prioritize and encourage your development in order to take on more responsibilities in the future.
Your profile
Personal characteristics we value are good communication skills, lots of energy and a can-do mentality. We believe that you are comfortable and appreciate working with others at the same time as you can structure and drive your own work forward and take initiative when you see the need.
• You have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, or similar.
• Work experience from the automotive industry as a design engineer or from a relevant cross-functional area is considered a merit.
• CAD-knowledge is a requirement, experience in CatiaV5 and Enovia is meriting.
• Professional fluency in English is a requirement, Swedish is a merit.
