Arbetsbeskrivning
Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
Power Solutions is a product-area responsible for developing and marketing a wide range of engines for industrial and marine applications. The business is run as a "company within the company" based on synergies, with a clear profitability target in addition to the general Scania target. At Technical Development, within Power Solutions, we are responsible for the development and adaptation of complete engines and their performance throughout the project and product lifecycle. The transition to sustainable and electrified solutions is also evident in the motor industry and we are determined to contribute to that future.
The "Mechanical Design" team within Power Solutions is now looking for a driven, active and self-motivated development engineer. You will work with adaptations on today's series engines as well as with the development of our new engine program. Your focus will be on layout and detailed design with a focus on the whole engine. In the future, we will also work with electrification and hybridization. Our goal is to be at the forefront in terms of performance, emissions and sustainable solutions. In this role you will acquire a good product knowledge and a wide network within Scania, and you will be welcomed by highly engaged, skilled and experienced engineers.
Your role
Power Solutions offers a dynamic environment in close collaboration with customers and the marketing organization, therefore it is important that you share our passion for understanding the customer. You will mainly work in Catia V5 (2D &3D) and also conduct basic calculations/simulations in Catia V5 GAS to secure high quality solutions. You will also participate during test assemblies in production, technical discussions with suppliers and work cross-functionally with other departments within Scania's organization. In addition to the work with product development, you also need to be driven in the work to streamline our work, processes and tools.
Your profile
An appropriate educational background is a master, bachelor or equivalent in mechanical engineering or product development. Competence acquired through work experience is also highly valued.
In order to be a successful development engineer at Power Solutions, it is important for you to have a basic understanding of diesel engines and it is a merit to have knowledge of electrified solutions. It is important that you are flexible, take own initiatives, are accountable and that you are motivated to develop your professional skills and also develop as a person. You can manage multiple assignments at once without the risk of low quality. You are structured and have shown that you can organize your work and drive it all the way to implementation in production. It is also necessary that you can collaborate well within your own team as well as with cross-functionalities. You communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both oral and writing.
As we work for diversity within the organization, we welcome female applicants for this position.
Application
Due to vacation, applications will be processed directly after the application period has expired. We look forward to recieveing your application, including CV and motivational letter, no later than August 22.
