Design lead for the Core System

What you will do?
Be part of the Electrical hardware development for Core System Components. The responsibility is cross car-lines i.e. all existing and planned vehicles. The design involves electric, electronic and mechatronic designs. It also need geometrical assurance/packaging and allocation of functionality in the correct geometrical zone. Best possible solution regarding EMC including shielding when necessary.

You will see to that the Team delivers according timeplans in our systems in correct maturity level and part validity. You will be part of collection, break down and implementation of component requirements and technical documentation in cooperation with selected suppliers, as well as ensure that Analysis and Verification requirements are created, monitored and implemented together with your team. System Safety ISO 26262 will always be a part of the development. Cyber security another.

Depending on Platform, time, situation and product, different level of Design will be required.The work stretches from concept and architectural work to quality and maintenance of the product. You will manage and Perform Design Reviews for the assignment, handle Change management and support purchasing in supplier evaluation and selection for included parts.        

Who are you?
You have a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree  in Electrical engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics or equivalent. You should have experience from cross-functional work in automotive industry with product development in fast-paced environment. Several years of experience in content described in Work Assignment above. You have knowledge and understand the balance in integration of electronics and functions and architecture and how this can be deployed in an automotive mechanical surrounding.You have good knowledge and experience in volvo systems like KDP, Pekka Procost, Team center, Car viewer, Lab 95 and Volvo product development systems.

You are fluent in English, written and spoken, and you are used to work in a global environment. Clear communication and transparency comes naturally to you, as well as team spirit and strong collaboration within the team and with different stakeholders. You have working experience in agile set-up. We are looking for you who are self-motivated, initiative and have a strong driving force to make a difference.
