The Colour & Material Department at Volvo Design works with the mission to develop outstanding premium cars with focus on Scandinavian design, both interior and exterior from advanced phase to project and all follow up the way towards production. The company is in a very expansive period with great momentum. Volvo Car Group is now looking for a very experienced automotive Colour & Material Designer with extensive knowledge to become responsible for one of our program clusters.

As Design Manager Colour & Materials you will be responsible of a complete program cluster with all its derivatives. It will require extensive automotive experience, a structured personality, great communication skills and a passion for design and cars. You will have to prepare material for design reviews internally, project meetings and also for the executive management team. You will report to the Vice President of Colour and Materials.

Main responsibilities

* Have the overall responsibility for a complete program cluster
* Coordinate both Colour & Materials in the project phase towards production as well as all the communication around it
* Monitor the work carried out by surface material design specialists and their studio engineers
* Prepare and present material for design reviews internally, for cross functional project teams as well as the executive management team

Required qualifications

* Bachelor or Master's Degree from Design University or equivalent
* Minimum 10 years of experience of working as an automotive Colour & Material designer or extensive experience from a creative environment within the automotive industry as project manager, designer or design manager
* Good skills in Microsoft Office programs, Photoshop, In design, Illustrator and skills or interest in learning VRED
* Passion for design with a strong focus on cars
* Ability to understand and implement product development process
* Fluent in English

* Very structured and goal oriented
* Confident and self-aware
