Job Description
As a Design Operations Manager, you will be a founding member of the design operations practice at Brand Services. We are looking for a forward-thinking leader with a passion for bringing innovative, exciting and sustainable ideas to life. The Design Ops Manager is a strategic doer who can keep track of the many moving parts necessary for design teams to be successful. You will have the opportunity to co-create the standards in our design culture, team development, workflow and process, and help elevate our design function internally and externally. You are a resilient changemaker who can help create order in white space environments and push priorities forward. You are able to stay optimistic even when faced with setbacks and resistance. You enjoy running projects from beginning to end and can help build a highly efficient and impactful design organization.
Your responsibilities
Staff responsible for the design leads on the innovation teams, support hiring and onboarding.
Weekly design direction and senior stakeholder management for one of the innovation teams.
Your focus is supporting teamwork, unblocking and empowering teams to do amazing work.
Planning and delivering: facilitate the development of standardized processes and rituals that enable the department’s growth and cross-collaboration.
Support your team to thrive and collaborate effectively. Coach and facilitate as an enabler, not a filter.
Contribute to the strategic development of the function.
Implement or drive changes to make sure design teams are working at a sustainable pace on the highest-priority and highest-impact activities.
Support leadership development through continuous dialogue and coaching.
Co-develop and manage design programs, including. timelines, partner onboarding, and internal and external events.
Qualifications
Has 5–7 years of experience leading leaders in an internal or external creative agency, or consulting environment.
Experience working directly as a designer or other user experience role.
Passionate to solve ambiguous and complex future challenges.
Equipped with a collaborative and empathetic mindset
Experience from high-growth environment.
Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills. Capable of making the complex simple and understood at all levels of the organization.
Strong knowledge of design and user research tools, methods, and processes.
