Design Process and Product Architect

As such, you will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and improving the Product Development and Engineering processes. You will work in close contact with the Digital Transformation Leads of the different Engineering Centers of Technology Development, the Digital Engineering and Innovation department and their data architects, product life cycle experts as well as the Technical Standards department. You will be a key player in the network of the Digital Transformation Program for Product Development and Engineering.

Key responsibilities
Designing and Streamlining Processes: you will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and improving the Product Development and Engineering processes. This involves identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or outdated practices and re-engineering processes to be more effective and digitally integrated.
Integration of Digital Tools: Implementing digital tools and technologies into the design and development process. This includes CAD (Computer-Aided Design), CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing), CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering), PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems, and Engineering Software solutions. The Design Process Architect ensures these tools are effectively integrated into the workflow, within PD&E and outside the department, interfacing with our stakeholders (frontline, manufacturing, and customers)
Innovation: You will play a role in fostering process innovation by scouting and integrating new technologies like AI, machine learning, and IoT into the product development process, aiming at smarter and more efficient bearing designs and design processes.
Facilitating Collaboration: You will work to enhance collaboration between different teams, such as design, engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, using digital platforms. This involves setting up systems for seamless sharing of digital assets and data across departments, with the collaboration of Digital Engineering and Innovation.
Data-Driven Decision Making: you would establish processes to collect, analyze, and utilize data from various stages of product development to support decision making on design choices and improvements to be brought to the processes, in collaboration with the Digital Transformation Leads of the Engineering Centers.
Training and Change Management: As processes and tools change, the Design Process Architect will be responsible for ensuring that all relevant personnel are trained on new systems and comfortable with the digital transformation.
Quality and Compliance: you will ensure that the new digital processes adhere to quality standards and compliance requirements in the journey towards Industry 4.0, in collaboration with the Technical Standards department.
Sustainability: for a better tomorrow, you will bring the focus on sustainable design practices, with circularity in mind, leveraging digital tools to ensure traceability of our carbon footprint, minimize waste and energy use.


We expect you to have
University degree, preferably computer science or related field.
University degree, or experience in Mechanical engineering is appreciated.
Digital Tools Proficiency: Knowledge of CAD, CAM, CAE, PLM systems, or other relevant digital tools and platforms.
Data Analysis and Management: Skills in data analytics, database management, and the ability to interpret and use data for decision-making.
Knowledge of Emerging Technologies: Familiarity with AI, IoT, machine learning, and other emerging technologies that can be applied in product development and engineering.
Change Management: Skills in managing organizational change, especially in guiding teams through transitions to new processes and technologies.
Strategic Thinking: Capability to align process architecture with overall business strategy and objectives.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to tackle complex design and process challenges.
Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team and facilitate cross-functional cooperation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, other languages is a plus.
Ability to think creatively to find innovative solutions and approaches in product development and process design.
Customer-Centric Approach: Understand customer and stakeholder needs and market trends to align product development accordingly.
