Designed Chemistry, a leader in polyolefin catalyst production, is seeking a Laboratory Engineer to join our innovative team. Established in 2011, we have grown into a dynamic company with about 20 dedicated professionals. Our commitment to quality is reflected in our ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certifications. We specialize in the development and production of catalysts for polymer-producing companies. Our state-of-the-art facilities allow us to manufacture a wide range of catalysts, including Ziegler-Natta, Single-Site, and Chromium catalysts. Additionally, we offer contract production services for our valued customers. Our laboratory plays a crucial role in both quality control and ongoing product development.
About the Role:
As a Laboratory Engineer at Designed Chemistry, you will play a vital role in catalyst development projects. You will work on a range of tasks, from improving existing methods to developing new catalysts, both independently and in collaboration with our customers. Reporting to the Team Leader Lab, you'll closely cooperate with colleagues in the laboratory, as well as those in Production and Logistics. Key Responsibilities:
Synthesise catalysts according to internal or external specifications on a laboratory scale.
Design experimental plans to assess new recipes or optimize existing ones.
Continuously work to improve existing or new methods to elevate the lab's competence and quality standards.
Collaborate with the Production team during the scale up of catalysts from the lab to pilot production.
Conduct analytical and polymerization tests to determine catalyst properties.
Work closely with the Production and Logistics teams to prepare samples for our customers.
Participate in maintaining laboratory functions, including instrument calibrations and method validation.
Engage in tasks related to health, environment, and safety, such as participating in risk assessments.
If needed, assist colleagues with quality control.
About You:
Minimum of an MSc. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
A Ph.D. or experience in product development from a lab environment is a plus.
Expertise in organic chemistry, chemical synthesis, analytical chemistry, catalysis, or polymer chemistry.
General experience from laboratory work.
Proficiency in statistics and evaluation of experiments.
Good knowledge of MS Office.

You take responsibility for your tasks, actively seek improvements, and can lead project-based initiatives. Strong planning, collaboration, and communication skills are essential for success in this role. You can communicate freely in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.
