About the role
The Designer / Purchaser is a new role within the Purchasing and Design Team with the purpose to drive activities in order to further develop our assortment. Part of these tasks include identifying trends, creating new design ideas and analyzing market needs. In this role you are constantly improving and developing our collections, following up and looking for new sales opportunities. Another key area of responsibility will be to plan purchases, ensure the timely delivery of products, and compliance with our supplier contracts. You will report to the Chief Design & Purchasing Officer (CDPO) and work closely with the purchasing team, as well as other departments and our suppliers.
How you make an impact
- Creative, driven, and structured with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
- Developing our assortment together with the CDPO.
- Identifying trends, creating mood boards, and presenting creative design ideas.
- Setting design requirements based on trends, quality, and customer needs.
- Proactively looking for and evaluating new materials and production techniques.
- Evaluating supplier relationships according to prices, quality and sustainability performance.
- Discovering and purchasing new products whilst checking the quality of the existing assortment.
- Monitoring stock levels and making purchasing forecasts
- Developing and maintaining good relationships with suppliers
- Proactively driving improvement work within the purchasing department.
What you bring
- Experience in textile design, preferably from the rug industry.
- Experience as a retail purchaser.
- Demonstrable aptitude in effective negotiating and up to speed with purchasing best practices.
- Familiarity with market research, data analysis and forecasting techniques.
- Energy, creativity, impact-oriented mind-set, and desire for personal development.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal / written skills in English and Swedish.
- Being proficient in MS Office, Photoshop, and other design/graphic software.
- Preferably +3 years of experience in a similar position.
- University degree in textile design or equivalent
