Designer/Researcher in Tangible Interaction

You will be part of CRC - ABB Corporate Research in Västerås. We are a global organization delivering innovative solutions for all ABB units. Our research projects typically develop proof of concept user experience solutions with the latest technology. Within these projects we have a close dialogue with our business units as well as end customers to identify tomorrow´s market needs. To fulfill these needs, we monitor, identify and make use of the latest technologies, when we shape ideas and provide new innovative solutions.

We are looking for a hardware interaction designer/researcher to develop industrial Internet of Things concepts for future workforce and automation systems where everything is connected. You are an innovative, creative hardware designer/researcher that loves the technology and putting bits and pieces together. You know the latest in interaction technology and consider yourself to be a part of the "maker culture". In other words, you are very enthusiastic when it comes to your and other´s DIY projects. To be successful in this position, you need to have an inspiring portfolio showcasing your design solutions and experience. You possibly hold a M.Sc. or Ph.D. Knowledge in the following areas are valued: Information and Communication, Sensor Based Systems, Radio and Electrical Engineering, IT Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Information Visualization. If you are experienced or have interest in leading projects towards your vision, this position can offer you a chance to lead your own team. You must be a skilled English speaking communicator with the ability to collaborate with customers as well as colleagues from all over the world.
