Job Summary:
We are now looking for a Developer to maintain products (units, nodes, networks, systems and solutions). Your role will include all development activities such as: requirement analysis, system design, architecture design, hardware design, software design, integration, verification, simulations, tools design, Product Lifecycle Management support and product documentation. Our focus is on Lean and Agile ways of working. We coordinate in multi-functional development teams in which continuous improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing is part of the daily work.
Improving test efficiency and protecting the vital 5G code
As a Test Automation Developer your primary responsibility is to build automated test cases that are stable and provide reliable verdicts. The test cases are based on manually executed feature verification testing and will preferably be developed in parallel with the manual testing. You will work in a mixed team with both testers and Test case developers you will share the responsibility to finish both testing an automation tasks within the team. This is a new setup and the team will be formed over the year.
You will develop the test code using an internal Ericsson framework based on Java and several other open source SWs such as the module test framework TestNG. The test environment is fully controlled by the test case and typically consist of a Digital Unit (DU), a Radio Unit (RU) and a phone or simulator (UE). Sometimes additional measurement instruments are also added to the setup e.g. a spectrum analyzer.
Your primary interface will be a SP driver and other program representatives from whom the teams' backlog is populated. You are then encouraged to pull tasks from the backlog preferably together with someone, either a feature verification tester or another Test Case Engineer. You will also interact a lot with Test Automation developers on other sites and with different roles responsible for the test loops and the test equipment there.
To be successful in the role we hope that you have or will achieve a good understanding of Java, the framework used (JCAT/MJE), the different test setups and for 5G in general.
Acting as a Test Automation Developer includes:
Cooperating with SP drivers and others to fulfill SP requirements in the testing area.
Strive for a high level of automation in all testing
Support SPs by getting early protection of the code.
Debugging failing test cases including failing product code and problems in the test environment together with developing XFT and testers.
Improve test cases and tools to increase execution speed and reliability of test cases.
Agree with XFTs in early phase to specify test cases eligible for automation and put requirements on the test environment.
Cooperate with the receiving organization in deployment proving test case quality

Education: MSc in Engineering
