About this opportunity
Product Development Unit Radio (PDU Radio) drives the end-to-end research and development of Ericsson's radio products and solutions. We are a global organization, within Development Unit Networks (DNEW), of approximately 3,000 engineers and developers collaborating across nine sites in Canada, China and Sweden to drive Ericsson's strategy of securing our ongoing market leadership in radio, taking a leadership position in 5G!
Radio Products Sweden 2 (RPSE2) is responsible for major parts of the Ericsson mmWave portfolio in 5G, and we drive radio product development in all phases of the development cycle with focus on technology leadership, efficient ways of working and short time to market for our products!
We’re now strengthening our team, working within next generation mmWave active antenna array systemization for future 5G mmWave products. We are looking for an active antenna array system engineer with great interest and experience in antenna system, antenna design and/or antenna test.
What you will do
Evolve in design of the state-of-the-art active antenna array technology for current and future 5G mmWave products according to the 3GPP
Analyze the active antenna array system requirements and derive the antenna array and RF sub-system requirements
As member of antenna development team, guide detailed design of the high-performance radiating elements that work over wide bandwidth and wide scan angle
Develop the OTA measurement plan and generate detailed test procedures for the RF and active antenna array system
Conduct near field and far field measurements, collect results and process the error analysis
Provide technical investigations, contribute to the evolution of our product portfolio, participate in pre-development projects as well as in technical studies and follow the developments in the active antenna array systems
Work with strategic technical leadership
Share you experience and knowledge as technical leader
Perform continuous analysis and requirement handling
Perform troubleshooting and customer support
Work with continuous improvements of products and processes
You will bring
A Master’s or PhD degree in electrical engineering, communications engineering or equivalent
Extensive knowledge of antenna array systems, design and testing
Extensive experience of HFSS and MATLAB, or equivalent
Good understanding of 3GPP and cellular networks
Good knowledge in Radio base station and RFIC technologies and products
Innovation and teamwork mentality paired with the ability to adapt and respond to change
Excellent written and spoken communications skill in English
