About us
The Battery Lifecycle Services Team (BLS) within Service Operations are a key contributor to delivering Volvo Cars’ sustainability commitments through the handling of EV batteries from Volvo Car retailers, R&D and production sites as well as supporting external partners. 
We aim to become a climate-neutral company through the importance of collaborating with our business partners and internal stakeholders to make an impact across the value chain. Through our Regional Battery Centers and together with the wider BLS team we strive ensure that batteries and components can be fully re-utilized and positively contribute to our circularity rather than using energy and precious resource in producing new. 
We work within an Agile framework and having a flexible mindset is key to how we work.
For us this is a ‘no brainer’ but putting ideas into action is really what makes a difference therefore we are now looking for a new team member to support our goals of creating a Circular Economy.
About the position 
You will work to increase circularity in battery materials back into our repair, re-use and repurposing flows. aiming for full value retention.
You will Measure, report, and provide a holistic view of the impacts of our circular business including with our recycling and collection partners.    
Main features / Outcomes of the role are to collaborate cross functionally within the ART together with other stakeholders across the company.

What you will do
•    Identify battery feedstock for establishing an operation to re-use components (R&D, production markets, etc.)
•    Identify battery component candidates for re-use 
•    Identify limitations and measurement methods for which components should and cannot be used
•    Measurement methods to ensure safety, compliance, financial value
•    Constraints, limitations  and inhibitors
•    Production requirements for establishing a component value retention E2E including facility requirements
•    Optimized Production flows including logistics
•    Business case to support establishing a facility
•    Identify risks and benefits

The position will be part of the Battery Value Management Team within Recycling but will have multiple touchpoints both across the ART and the wider company sustainability procurement and business stakeholders.
Do you fit the profile?
You should be highly knowledgeable in the sustainability field preferably with a strong understanding of HV batteries and know how to balance and merge environmental, social, and economic business aspects to shape the future of mobility.
You understand the CO2 performance of batteries by collecting the right set of data using relevant standards and methodologies. 
Ability to perform LCA’s to quantify the environmental impacts that arise from the various inputs and outputs, such as energy usage, emissions etc.
Proven track record in how to transform operations to become circular is meritorious.
You should be familiar with analyzing complex sustainability data to gain insights for business purposes and decision making.

You have a positive mindset with a ‘can do’ approach and willing to provide ideas and proposals. You have strong data management skills, take ownership, and have strong collaboration skills.
