About this opportunity:
PEU RAN Performance is the R&D team that secures that Ericsson’s maintains and gains RAN market share through world-leading network performance, winning benchmark activities and being recognized by operators as best performing network. The PEU has design ownership for 5G BB SW products and is a global organization located mainly in Kista, Lund, Beijing, Austin, and Ottawa.
The RAN Systems unit within PEU RAN Performance leads our baseband systemization strategy for Ericsson radio network products and drives overall radio network performance to secure technology leadership. The RAN Systems consists of four sections covering the Analytics, Capacity/Performance, RN Guidelines & OTA testing and RAN Functions/Strategy areas. These sections are mainly based in Kista.
We are now looking for a RAN dimensioning methods & tool lead within the RN Guidelines team. The responsibility includes development of RAN dimensioning methods & tools for 5G and their evolvement into 6G deployment scenarios. This includes Ericsson RAN products, end-user services & device capabilities.
As a development lead in this area, you will work closely with the RAN Dimensioning experts in both Product Line and R&D for requirements on new features & tool capabilities that are in a later phase used in the Market Areas (MAs) supporting tenders and customer engagements.
You will drive and coordinate the development of an established RAN dimensioning tool with a graphical end-user interface, as well supporting how analytical dimensioning methods can be implemented & delivered according to Market Area needs.
What you will do:
• Work with MAs and Product Line to collect requirements, making sure that future RAN evolution and needs are captured in dimensioning tools to support customer engagements
• Plan and execute on dimensioning tool development
• Hands-on coding and implementation of requirements (features and capabilities)
• Plan and coordinate tool needs & development with Ericsson Research and Technology & Standards
• Document implementation, ensure the delivered quality together with other RAN dimensioning experts and presentations to the MA dimensioning community
The skills you bring:
• Education: Master of Science or higher
• Excellent knowledge of RAN Dimensioning principles (air interface coverage & capacity)
• Excellent MATLAB programming skills and experience of RAN modelling
• Excellent Excel skills including VBA programming
• General SW development skills (experience in Angular, Java preferred)
• Experience from Tool Management
• Developed leadership skills with the ability to coach drive development teams
• Excellent ability to operate in a cross-organizational environment
• Service-minded attitude
