What’s in it for you?
As a developer/GDL in Hood & Fender Systems, you play an important role in developing front-end systems for future Volvo cars. The product team is responsible for developing pedestrian protection system, hood locking system, hood, fender and structural parts that ensures stability in the front end of the car. The team collaborates with a wide variety of stakeholders to find the best solutions and you will work closely with CAE and test engineers as simulation and verification are vital tools in our development process. We work in flexible, cross-functional, product teams tailored to development tasks and in this position, there are always open possibilities for personal development, depending on your interest, self-drive and your initiative. What you’ll do
You will be part of a product team in Hood & Fender Systems that are developing technical solutions according to agile principles and SAFe/VCAF. The work is conducted in an international environment in close co-operation with design, CAE/testing, manufacturing, procurement, our factories and external suppliers. You will focus on product development in our car programs but also be open to contribute to our advanced engineering projects or concept investigations to support our development of new technology introductions.

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or other equivalent education
• Project management skills and experience from VPDS is required
• Experience from working with ESOW and CarWeaver is required
• Experience from function development, system safety and cyber security is meritorious
• Experience from sheet metal design and manufacturing is meritorious
• International sourcing experience is meritorious
• Experience from Agile, Scrum and SAFe/VCAF is meritorious
