Developer/Design Engineer – Interior Lighting

Right now, we have an exciting job opening for you as Developer/Design Engineer within an Agile team at Interior Lighting.
What’s in it for you?
Interior Lighting is a part of Interior department consisting of approximately 120 engineers organized into six groups, developing components within the following areas: Compartment Trim & Overhead Systems, Rear Trim & Systems, Acoustics & Floor Systems, Interior Lighting, Interior Systems, Accessories and Police Cars.
You will work in an agile team together with Design engineers, CAE engineers as well as project leads, who are working with built-to-print suppliers to deliver a premium illumination experience of the interior. The Agile team are responsible of the development of lighting parts and to assure quality of the designs from concept until the end of production phase. You will be involved in the Interior lighting strategy work supporting the architectural runway of the System responsible (SA). This work includes all development phases but also products in running production. You will be responsible for the design and quality assurance of your parts. The role includes securing the mechanical integration to our interfaces and external collaboration with our suppliers.
Your skills:
We are looking for you who have B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Automotive, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent of relevant experience. You have at least 8 years of experience as a design engineer in the field of plastic design. At Volvo Cars we work with CATIA V5 and Teamcenter. Experience from working with Interior lights or optical design is meritorious. Knowledge in Spaceclaim, SPEOS and LightTools will also be meritorious.
