Swedwatch is currently seeking a Development Coordinator to join their highly qualified team in an exciting phase. You will lead and develop Swedwatch´s work with fundraising and reporting and ensure sustainable funding through partnerships and major donors, and contribute toward the organisation’s development efforts. The position is full time, based in our Stockholm office and involves some travel.
Main tasks:
• Develop and maintain ongoing and pro-active relationships with major donors together with the Director and Heads of Units.
• Responsible for Swedwatch’s fundraising and reporting, working closely with staff and ensuring that garnered data is analysed and used as appropriate in reporting and development efforts.
• Ensure a diversified funding and sustainable development of the organization.
• Responsible for development and production of grant proposals, including from major donors and those for core funding, in Sweden and globally.
• Manage final submissions, ensuring that all paperwork is fully compliant with application requirements and submitted in timely manner and according to Swedwatch policies.
• Follow up on all application submissions and gather feedback so as to continuously improve the effectiveness of fundraising operations.
• Coordinate and develop fundraising and reporting processes and routines across the organization.
• Maintain active knowledge of funding trends relevant to Swedwatch´s work area.
• Work actively with Swedwatch Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning processes, ensuring that this is integrated into development plans and reporting- with focus on Results-Based Management and related tools.
• Ensure that results from Swedwatch´s work reaches a broad audience, with focus on partners and funders.
• Work closely with other staff and contribute toward Swedwatch’s internal capacity development work in efforts to help ensure common approaches.
• Report to the Director.
Skills and qualifications:
We are looking for a person with extensive experience working with fundraising, mainly from major donors, and development as well as a proven track record from developing fundraising within an organization. You have a bachelor’s degree within a relevant area or equivalent work experience and have earlier experiences working for government, NGO or other in an international context. You have knowledge about SIDA and you are committed to Swedwatch mission and share our values. The role requires excellent written and spoken skills in English and ability to process, analyze and present top-quality information to varying stakeholders. You are also ideally fluent in Swedish, both written and spoken.
If you have specialist insight into a particular aspect of the broader Swedwatch agenda, skills in another language and/or insight into another country or region that is desirable. Likewise, if you have experiencefrom leading teams or have worked in communications, this is also beneficial.
To be successful in the role, you must be a team player that has a strategic perspective and the ability balance proactive and reactive development efforts. You are outgoing and socially active in professional contexts, enjoy creating connections and have strong communication skills. It’s also important that you can work independently, work with high quality to deadlines, and are able to prioritize.
