Flint Group manufactures and markets an extensive portfolio of conventional and energy curable inks, printing plates for flexo and letterpress, sleeve systems for flexographic applications, pigments and additives for use in inks and other colourant applications, printing blankets, sleeves and pressroom chemicals for offset printing. We offer our customers a unique portfolio of system solutions and technical service. New products are jointly developed together with customers and partners.

Professional and motivated employees ensure our success and we are now looking for a Development Engineer. In this role we expect that you provide industry leadership through the development of innovative products and processes that enhance our technology base and image.
Main challenges:
-Plan, implements and conclude laboratory work on assigned projects within the specified time frame.
-Build project team that may include customer or industry vendors as needed to complete the work.
-Supervise, instruct and co-ordinate the work of other team members, and act as a mentor for less experienced personnel.
-Be responsible for product implementation through manufacturing, QC, customer trials and end use converting to product establishment.
-Utilize your technical knowledge to recommend existing products, formulate new ink systems or make technical recommendations to customers, sales or technical personnel.
-Be capable of recognizing internal or customer problems and generating an appropriate corrective course of action.
-Fully complete assigned projects and communicate the results through internal documents, customer trial reports, technical data sheets and presentations.
Requirements:
-Bachelors or Masters Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science or Chemical Engineering or
equivalent, preferably with 3+ years in the formulation of pigmented UV ink systems.
-You have in depth current technical knowledge and expertise in the printing ink market segment, preferably with experience in pigments and/or the packaging industry.
-You have working knowledge of a range of printing processes and chemistries (UV and WB).
-You understand the function of raw materials and routinely make recommendations for raw material consolidation, cost reduction and product improvement.
-You have the ability to think analytically, and are a good communicator.
-You are a true team player who thrives in a dynamic work environment.
