Are you ready for an exciting challenge within the marine business? Do you have the technical expertise and personal skillset to contribute to an ongoing success story? If so, a rare opportunity has now arisen when the Waterjet engineering department at Kongsberg Maritime in Kristinehamn. We are looking for two new Development Engineers to expand our team.
We are looking for motivated individuals who want to join us and become core members in our team of experts. You will be surrounded by competent colleagues that are focused on developing new innovative products, handling our customers concerns and working in a cross-functional matter. You will be placed in Kristinehamn together with your colleagues, but also have close collaboration with our engineering teams in Finland and Croatia. Our suppliers and customers are located all over the globe, so travelling can be a natural part of work for the interested.

The exact nature of the roles is highly dependent on your areas of expertise and interest, the roles will be partly tailored based on your skills and to the needs of the organization. Examples of tasks is product development, quality investigations, sales support, project management and environmental impact evaluations. You will have responsibility and work independently, but also in close collaboration with both internal and external parties. We can offer flexible working hours and the option to work partly remote based on your work tasks.
Qualifications and experience
To best fulfil our needs and make this a perfect fit, we think that you should have a master’s degree in a relevant field of engineering. Understanding of the marine business or specialist knowledge within any of the following technical fields is meritorious: structural analysis, hydraulics, materials science, and health monitoring. Also experience within project management, systematic investigative work, mechanical design, technical documentation or systems engineering is an advantage.
We appreciate your ability to act on own initiative, make things happen and accept responsibility for the results. You should be able to analyze complex issues and problems and come up with rational judgments, and also contribute to development of our product thru imaginative ideas and solutions. For us collaboration is key to succeed, therefore you should co-operate well with others, share knowledge, experience, information and support your colleagues in the pursuit of team goals.
However, if you do not meet all the requirements, but still is interested and think that you have other knowledge or skills to offer, do not hesitate to apply. We value your personal characteristics highly and are open to put you in any relevant training to increase the competence level. Due to the nature of an international customer and supplier base, high level of English, both written and oral, is important. Communication skills in other languages is considered an advantage.
