We are now looking for a Development Engineer to join our team in Bohus! You will be joining a committed team of engineers and chemists and the overall purpose of this job is to be responsible for performing and planning safe, accurate and efficient investigations for process and application development related to decided projects and activities. This is an excellent opportunity to grow as an engineer/chemist whilst contributing to the growth of Nouryon.
Main responsibilities
As a Development Engineer you secure a safe and standardized work in line with the HSE guidance and scope for the department and its functional standards. You will prepare, execute and analyze support and development activities in own discipline. You will develop new and improve existing methods, in line with the R&D strategy, project and R&D functional standards.
Other responsibilities:
Maintain, improve and develop laboratory methods and equipment in the field, ensure retention of knowledge through reports
Be responsible for equipment and material in lab and pilot
Manage purchases and work orders related to the R&D activities and projects
Lead assignments or participate in assignments/projects and ensure execution and delivery of technical results
Formulate and present solutions to support the R&D agenda
Field of work
The position is in an R&D department working with process development and product application with the main products being sodium chlorate, chlorine dioxide and hydrogen peroxide. Process development often requires work in pilot scale. The application work ranges from pulp bleaching to other applications where oxidative chemicals are used; water and flue gas treatment.
Qualifications
We are looking for an ambitious and driven person, who loves to find improvements in the processes you work in. You are a good communicator with a can-do attitude and embraces our helpful atmosphere. Since the position also requires you to deliver results, you need to be result oriented and a good communicator.
Formal qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry /chemical engineering with 3-5 years of relevant experience
or
Master's Degree in chemistry / chemical engineering
Other Qualification
Preferred competence in process development, scale-up, inorganic chemistry and/or electrochemistry synthesis and product characterization
Experience from laborative work
Experience from pilot production
Good computer knowledge e.g. Excel and IT systems
Good communication in English, both verbally and in writing
Good understanding, writing and speaking in Swedish
