Development Engineer

We are now looking for a Development Engineer to join our team for 11 months as a temporary extension in R&D Chemical Analysis group. In this position you would be a part of developing Expancel´s future portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity to grow as an engineer whilst contributing to the growth of Expancel and Nouryon.
You will be joining a committed team of engineers and chemists, working in product development focusing on analytical chemistry and application.
You need to be skilled when it comes to laboratory work and procedures. As well as comfortable working both independently and with others. Experience in analytical chemistry is an advantage as much of the work will focus on performing analysis and interpreting results.
Since the position also requires you to deliver results, you need to be result oriented and a good communicator.
Responsibilities
The main tasks and responsibilities are to:
Leads assignments and/or participates in assignments/projects and ensures execution and delivery of technical results
Responsibility to support product development tasks in implementation stages and analytical development and customer evaluation.
Maintains, improves and develop new relevant research methods in the field, ensures retention of knowledge through research reports
Formulates and presents solution directions and issues advice at request or at own initiative
Performs analysis/experimental work with accuracy, repeatability, reproducibility and precision.
Identifying issues and root causes and work with continuous improvements according to the procedures for the laboratory.
Contribute to and support explorative work and product development of new and current chemistry platforms
Responsibility to follow the HSE-legislations and HSE site rules in order to contribute to a safe workplace and environment, thus work according to Swedish legislation and Nouryon standards.



Requirements
Good understanding in analytical chemistry and analytical instrumentations
University degree in Chemistry / Chemical Technology or relevant working experience
Good communication abilities in English and Swedish – orally and in writing
Good knowledge about the plant product chemistry and its sustainability issues
Experience in method development and validation, laborative work, analytical chemistry
Good knowledge regarding chemicals substances, HSE regulations and procedures.

Additional information
This is a temporary position on full time basis, with end date, May 31st 2022. Reporting to Manager Chemical Analysis R&D and placed in Stockvik.
