The Development department within the Global R&D Filler Metals function is the responsible technical team for delivering new and/or enhanced welding consumable products to market as well as maintaining the current product portfolio. It is done through research and development projects as well as continuous improvement activities. The Development department is a global organization with a lot of interactions with other R&D departments as well as other company functions such as Product Management, Sourcing, Quality etc.
The Development team, where the Development Engineer will be a member, is the largest team within the Development department with the main responsibility of delivering new and enhanced products to the market.
As a Development Engineer Your responsibilities will be to:
- Lead and participate in the technical part of Development projects delivering new and innovative Filler Metals for ESAB globally
- Lead and participate in Product Enhancement projects for ESAB globally
- Do research and investigations related to welding consumables to build knowledge for new and innovative products
- Write technical documentation and instructions for production and control globally
Who are You?
We believe You have a Master degree in materials science, metallurgy or chemistry and a minimum of five years of experience working with product development in the welding, steel or in-organic process industry. Prior experience with Design of Experiment (e.g. MODDE software) and IWE diploma are meriting.
As a person, You have an enterprising and result-oriented personality with creativity and exceptional analytical skills. You are proficient in both written and verbal English communication and preferably also Swedish.
The position is placed in Gothenburg, Sweden. Occasional travel is required.
