The Catalyst and Filter Performance group is a part of the Emission Solutions Development department. We are contributing to sustainable transport solutions by providing expertise regarding the performance of catalysts and particulate filters. To this group, we are now looking for an development engineer. We offer a position in a dynamic work environment with many of opportunities to influence the future.

Your work duties
As a development engineer, you will work with performance requirements of our catalyst and particulate filters, evaluation, optimization and calibration of the current systems and selecting future catalytic solutions. The testing is performed mainly in engine test cells, but also in rigs, trucks and buses. The work is an iterative and dynamic process where many variables must be optimized simultaneously. The work may include contact with academia, we currently have two industrial Ph.D. students in the group.
The position also includes frequent communication and cooperation with our interfacing functions, both internal, within Traton and external. You will take part in cross-functional teams with the goal to optimise the aftertreatment system with regards to all product properties such as performance requirements, acoustic, weight and cost. You will work close to simulation and design engineers and together perform development iterations as well as plan the testing and validation of your product.

Your profile
An in-depth knowledge of combustion chemistry, emissions and after-treatment system is required. For example, a Ph.D. degree in catalytic combustion or similar, or, a relevant master’s degree combined with working experience within the area.
Experience of automotive after-treatment system is an advantage, as well as experience in running engine tests, parameter calibration and knowledge in Inca, Vision or a similar software.
You are a fast learner, flexible, innovative and have the ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast moving environment. You have good communication skills and knowledge in written and spoken English, and are able to communicate your technical results within your team and to others. You are committed, curious, interested and have the ability and the will to both come up with new ideas and achieve results. You like working with others and are driven by an inspiring and creative climate with many talented colleagues around you.
This position is based in Södertälje and you will be a part of an supportive team.
