Scania is currently in a transformation phase from a supplier of trucks, buses, and engines to become a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions. The group Engine front end systems and electrics, NMDF, is responsible for the development of the engine’s electromechanical components; alternators, and starter motors, as well as their development into the future. The group’s responsibilities are also within belt transmissions and AC-compressors for the front-end drive. We are now facing exciting times with the development of new technologies in cooperation within the TRATON Group. If you want to be a part of this journey, we are currently looking into expanding within the field of electric machines.

Your duties 

You will be a member of a group that is characterised by deep and broad competence within different areas of expertise. Our work is carried out in a structured way after our milestones. We are working with requirement development, we set requirements for our parts and projects. The work is often carried out as a part of a team that works closely together but also involves other groups and departments within R&D, purchasing, engine assembly, aftermarket, and our suppliers.  

Your duties will be within the area of specifying and developing electric machines for current and future engine platforms within the TRATON group as well as taking an active role in the testing and verification of the components, in close cooperation with our suppliers.

Your profile 

You have an engineering degree within mechanical, electronics, or mechatronics alternatively experience and knowledge, practical and theoretical, within electric machines and power electronics. The person we are looking for has either a deep technical understanding and experience in electrical machines or general knowledge about our area of responsibility with a drive to learn. 

As a person, you are outgoing, flexible, and likes to work both in a team and drive your own responsibilities forward. You enjoy challenges and can handle many different tasks in parallel. To fit into the group you need to have the ability to handle theoretical challenges as well as the willingness to do hands-on work. Documentation and presentation of the results are seen as a natural part of the job. To fit within team electrics we are looking for a personality who gets things done and drives things forward.

Swedish language skills are not mandatory, but an ambition to learn the language is essential. Fluent in spoken and written English is mandatory.  

Previous Scania and/or automotive experience, combustion engine knowledge, and testing experience is seen as an advantage.
