Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions. The next generation powertrains with increased efficiency and electrification are important steps in this transformation as well as meeting the science based target of carbon dioxide reduction.

In the department for Engine Control Systems we are responsible for development of engine control systems for all powertrains in the group. We have an open and innovative environment, a perfect opportunity to develop yourself and make a difference. In the group, NEFV, we are in exciting times introducing control of a new gas exchange concept, improving software and testing for safety critical functionality and implementing advanced diagnostics for a demanding US market.

Your role

You will be responsible for an area within gas flow control, where you together with your colleagues are the expert. Creativity, problem solving and critical thinking is highly valued as we often discuss the challenges to find solutions together and you are expected to contribute to the team deliveries. As a supplier of engine control system in the Traton group and to external customers you will often work in cross-functional teams with international projects with contacts both within and outside Scania.

You will do functional development in C-code as well as model based with code generating. An important part of work is to develop models for the system to control and machine learning will be more and more used. Part of your work is also to do calibration and testing, using all possibilities from simulations to engine and vehicle tests.

To sum up, you will be part of the complete development chain, from idea and implementation to testing and evaluation.

Who you are


• You have a Master degree within relevant area or corresponding experience
• You like the variety between theoretical analysis and practical testing
• You have patient to understand the customer demands to take the right decisions and finding optimal solutions
• It is natural for you to question the way of work and you appreciate continues improvements in tools and processes to increase efficiency
• You are good in communication and fluent in English in speech and writing.

Experience in control system development or in engine development is of high value. Knowledge in embedded software and Matlab/Simulink as well as diagnostics is meritorious. But most important is that you have the right attitude and are willing to learn.

B-license is required, C-license is meritorious.
