Fuel system development is part of engine development organisation at Scania R&D. Fuel system development department is responsible for development of fuel system hardware and component integration. Our strength is keep at a vast knowledge concerning specific components forming the fuel system for combustion engines at Scania. Fuel system uses that knowledge to optimize fuel system components together with different combustion engine platforms from 420  to 770 hp power rating.    

Our group, is responsible for injector development for all Scania diesel combustion engines. Responsibility is keep for new development/development programs, validation, testing and calibration. Injection system plays an important role to achieve a high effectiveness on the engine and our work implicate a wide cooperation within engine development both on hardware and software development side and outside with joint efforts with injector suppliers.

As performance engineer on the team you will be responsible for integration and calibration of the fuel injector for all on-going development projects targeting injector performance. Your work assignments will vary on a day to day basis, but can be summarized in the bullets below;


• Plan and evaluate, together with designer on the team, calibration and validation of injector performance in our local injectors rigs and test engines.
• Perform analysis of test or field data and work actively to resolve any performance or product deviations
• Work together object leader to plan project and milestone deliveries
• Work together with supplier to ensure performance and calibration meets requirement specification
• Work cross-functionally within R&D and engine production to contribute with deep technical competence on injector technology.
• Development of test methods and update calibrations guidelines
• Support development of new technology with concept development and evaluation of different prototype suppliers

Your Profile

The role is a great opportunity as a carrier step for someone with an interest towards performance side of injector development. Experience from engine development and from development at Scania is of merit, but also work with an great effort with targeted education internally. It is important that you are a team player with an internal drive to learn and develop your knowledge with fuel system components. Your education should be on a master of science or equivalent level with a good ability to cooperate with cross-factional departments within the company. Since our cooperation include working with suppliers all over the work you should be fluently master English in speech and writing.
