For this position we will consider both experienced engineers and new M.Sc. and Ph.D. holders with an insatiable interest in new challenges in the field and a desire to grow together with us.
Key performance areas
The work is conducted in a global network of specialists and in key markets, in order to develop knowledge about the component solutions, understand customer needs and develop customer value. You will cooperate closely with the machining application development specialists, service managers and selected customers and research centers. Your main responsibilities include:
- Development of tools, methods and technologies to support machining process monitoring and process control
- Participating in product development and machining application development projects
- Supporting our global application center engineers and training personnel with different theoretical and practical background
- Monitoring, reporting, and communicating project progress and results
- Preparing presentation materials and making presentations for/to customers, internal and external
- Managing key activities and projects with key OEM: e.g., machine tool builders and selected customers
- Collaborate with Universities or research institutes, including development and maintenance of good working relationships, both internally and externally
- Building, developing and maintaining relationships with OEM research departments
- Ensuring that Sandvik Coromant maintains a highly visible position in external forums from technical magazines, advertising and seminars, including key presentations
The position involves traveling.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a degree in engineering or professional experience in mechatronics and tool design. Practical and theoretical knowledge and experience within sensor technologies, signal analysis, wireless techniques, electronics, and machining centers controller are preferable. In addition CNC and good technical understanding of metal cutting and manufacturing are preferable. The position involves international contacts and traveling, and therefore, good skills in English, both spoken and written, are required.
As a person you are self-motivated, flexible, with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills. You develop new ideas and innovations through promoting diversity and equality in a global organization. You are creative, have troubleshooting ability, and are open to change. You like to develop other personnel and have the ability to share your knowledge with others and to prioritize tasks.
