Development Engineer for geometry assurance and testing

Arbetsbeskrivning

Simulation-driven product development is one of Scania’s main strategies and the geometry assurance and testing group plays a key role in realising the strategy. The digital data created by the group has many applications; the group carries out packing analyses and geometry assurance, while production and aftermarket carry out assembly analyses, with calculation groups using the data for aerodynamic and strength simulations at whole vehicle level.

The group works in a climate characterised by a continuous flow of new applications with specific needs. To meet these new needs, we need to constantly work on improving and changing working practices and methods. This climate allows great scope for taking the initiative and entrepreneurship.

We are now looking for a committed and analytical development engineer for the group who can see the opportunities within our work area. As the nature of the group’s work involves a lot of cross-functional cooperation, we would expect you to have the ability to communicate with technology specialists and present new working methods, statuses and results at technology and project meetings in a satisfactory way.

Your duties
As a development engineer with us, you will be responsible for producing digital cars, design environments and packing analyses. You will also lead layout reviews from a whole vehicle perspective. In addition, you will be responsible for implementing and using 3D data within new areas of application.

Your profile
You will have a BSc or MSc in Engineering. You are a committed, analytical and enterprising team player with the ability to turn customer requirements into strategic changes to working practices and methods, which you then gain support for throughout the organisation.

You must be proficient in written and spoken Swedish and English. You have knowledge of Catia, Aros and Excel. A design background and an understanding of Scania’s module system and product structure would be an advantage.
