Process Engineering Department at Boliden

Boliden also aims to be one of the technologically leading players in the mining industry globally. Therefore, the Process Engineering Department is now looking for someone who wants to help develop the mineral enrichment processes of the future.
The Process Engineering Department, with its 24 employees, is part of Engineering. The primary task of the department is to support the concentrators within the Mines Business Area in everything from problem solving in operations to feasibility planning for new facilities and processes. Process engineering also works extensively with Boliden’s own environmental department to develop and improve water purification and reclamation technologies. We are also carrying out many projects that involve the exploration department in surveys for new deposits. In order to solve these tasks, Process Engineering has a very well-equipped pilot plant and laboratory.
Work duties
As a development engineer in Mineral Technology, you will mainly get to work on the development of new processes in the areas of - grinding, flotation and gravimetric separation. Optimization of the existing processes is an important part of the job. You will also be involved in feasibility studies for new deposits.
Process engineering work is conducted as assignments or in project form, and your role may involve being both project manager and participant in the project group. This work is mainly focused on the concentrators and our own R&D programme, but there may also be other clients, both internally and externally.
This will be a permanent full-time position. You will initially be based at Boliden, but other locations may become relevant, depending on the needs of the applicant. The starting date is subject to agreement.
Education and qualifications
You should be a graduate engineer or equivalent, preferably with training in minerals engineering or chemical engineering. As the job involves a high degree of personal responsibility, it is important that you can work independently. The work requires good interpersonal skills, and proficiency in both written and spoken Swedish and English. A category B driving license is a requirement.
