Development Engineer - Mine Planning

to the Technology Department ? Mine Technology

The primary task of the Mine Technology department is to support production within Boliden Mines in everything from problem solving in operations to concept studies and feasibility planning of new areas in the mines. We also participate in various parts of the planning process for new deposits on behalf of the business development department. The Technology Department is characterised by teamwork involving multidisciplinary projects and a strong element of personal commitment. The position is part of the organisational department for Mine Technology and is based in Garpenberg, Sweden.

Duties
The candidate will be responsible for supporting medium and long term scheduling of mine production.
Also the candidate will responsible of developing the usage of the mine planning software.

The role requires strong mining and mine engineering knowledge and the ability to coordinate between mine planning and mine operations.

Education and qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a relevant primary degree and/or have significant previous experience in planning and design in the underground mining industry. Previous experience of using the mine planning system Deswik would be advantageous

You must be able to express yourself well in both spoken and written English. A driving licence is a requirement. As an individual, it is important that you have a good analytical ability, can work independently and in an organised way, also that you have good communication and social skills.
