Job Summary
We are looking for a Development Engineer to be part of the Sealing Applications & Modelling team, in Sealing Solutions & Materials Engineering. With this position we would like to strengthen our virtual engineering capabilities within structural mechanics- and thermal simulations.
We strive to develop and refine our virtual models and rigs with the ultimate goal of creating robust sealing solutions for our customers. We work closely together across several functions and with partners to develop sustainable packaging material, machine components, process settings as well as test methods to screen and verify sealing quality performance. The challenges are many, the pace is high, and we do it together!
The position is based in Lund and may require some travelling.
What you will do
The activities you will be involved in are diverse in nature, including multi-physics simulations. You will drive the work of evaluating and optimizing concepts and components and lead the way to predict, design and optimize the sealing quality with virtual tools. In all work, robust design principles are important corner stones and strongly embedded in our work. There will be plenty of opportunities to collaborate across country borders, functional areas, and experiences and we learn something new every day!
Support project teams in the development of new technologies and products with virtual studies
Knowledge building activities to explore and expand the field of modelling & simulation
Analyse, document and share results

We believe you have
A Master of Science degree in Materials, Mechanics or equivalent
At least 5 years of work experience from mechanical and thermal simulation in relation to heat generation via friction and/or dissipation of mechanical energy, and preferably experience in model calibration and verification
Experience from working with different materials, like paperboard and polymer is a merit
Knowledge and experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics [CFD] is a merit
Well acquainted and self-sufficient in physical testing
Knowledge in statistical tools, e.g., Minitab is an advantage
Knowledge in Abaqus is an advantage
A high proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is essential

You work in an analytical and thorough way and have good presentation skills. You possess excellent collaboration and communications skills enjoying individual work as well as contributing to your team’s success. Taking initiatives come naturally to you, as well as proposing new solutions and actions. In addition, you have the interest and ability to handle the big picture in deliverables at the same time as being thrilled by technical details.
