Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions. Within the area of production and logistics the industry trend is focus on automation and digitalisation. A Smart Factory Lab team  at Global Industrial Development is established to push the transformation within production and logistics. Currently the smart factory lab team is working with for instance automation, augmented reality, advanced analytics, computer vision, ergonomics, digitisation, virtual reality, sustainability, production preparation.

Your tasks

The Development Engineer is a member of the Smart Factory Lab Team. The Lab research engineer lead the development or design of new solutions and technologies. The research engineers also improve existing technical processes, machines and systems and adapt, evaluate and demonstrate new technologies. Furthermore, the research engineer assist in implementing  the technologies within production and logistics.

Your profile

You have a Masters Engineering in Comp Science or Production/Industrial Engineering in related fields and demonstrated experience in the industry. You speak and write english proficiency  Swedish/portuguese/french/dutch/german/spanish is a merit. 

You have:


• Good understanding of complex technical problems and ability to solve them
• Interest and possibility to build physical demonstrators and prototypes
• Experience with IT environment (CAD and programming)
• Good communication skills, a team player, ability to energize
• Demonstrated ability to influence and network across multiple functional teams
