On our route of transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions we are looking for a development engineer within SoftWare systems who wants to meet the challenge of the future together with us.

The department Customized Truck Development is responsible for customer- and market adaptation of trucks and complete vehicles with bodywork. It is an expansive area where Scania invests in order to get into new markets and segments. Our team System Development currently consists of 17 persons responsible for all electrics and system development within Customized Trucks and we are now expanding.

Your role

Your responsibilities will include identifying software needs in both customer requests and larger projects/assignments, coordinate systemisation/development and verify that the solution meets the requirements. This includes cooperation with multiple development teams, market representatives and other design areas.

In addition, you will have to support production and aftermarket with software deviations that might arise on customized trucks.

Together with the colleagues in the team you are also responsible for continuously improving and challenging the group’s working methods and processes.

Your profile

You have a great technical interest and like the challenge of finding solutions for unique customer requests. As a person, you are structured, creative, driven, flexible and used of taking responsibility. You can easily collaborate with others but can also work independently towards a set target. You are looking for breadth rather than depth in working tasks and like to have multiple things ongoing.                


• You have a M.Sc. or B.Sc. in mechatronics, systems design, electro or equivalent and preferably some years of working experience in the automotive industry and/or with embedded systems. Complementing experience in programming is a merit.
• You can communicate fluently in English, (both written and spoken) and in addition have at least basic Swedish knowledge, with an intention to develop further.
