This is an opportunity to join the system platform team for Powertrain Controls within R&D at Scania. We are responsible for the development of software for Scania’s embedded mechatronics system. We are now expanding our team and looking for you who have a background within computer science and/or electronics engineering and are looking for a new interesting challenge. YOU WILL

Here you will join the experienced system platform team of development engineers who are responsible for the development of software for Scania’s embedded mechatronics system. Our system is located within Scania’s trucks and buses whether it is a conventional or electrical design of the engine. The software is embedded between the application layer and the hardware. The purpose of the software is to enable the application teams to create effective functions without having knowledge of all the details regarding how the hardware is controlled. This system is an important part of the performance and quality of the vehicle so that it meets the demands of overall energy efficiency and good drivability.

You will build your knowledge within embedded systems and how the systems co-operate with sensors and actuators. You will work with software that controls and diagnoses the different electrical systems that you find in a control unit in a modern vehicle. Typical tasks that you will work with are:

- programming and testing.
- control of fuel injections in diesel and otto engines.
- drivers for electronics within electrified vehicles.
- handling communication between control units in a distributed system.
- adapt encryption algorithms for embedded systems in order to secure that we can meet new requirements regarding CyberSecurity.

YOUR PROFILE

You should have an academic degree within computer science or electronics engineering and at least a few years of experience within developing of embedded systems. You have experience from C programming, preferably close to the hardware, and software for real-time systems. Experience from safety critical systems is an advantage.

We believe in being autonomous and value team-players and pragmatical individuals. We also appreciate individuals that are analytical, result-oriented, and face new challenges with a positive, can-do attitude. You are of course open and curious towards your teammates and other people that you work with, enjoy learning new things and are thorough in your work. You have a problem-solving mindset and good communication skills. You have good knowledge in English and preferably also Swedish, or you are willing to learn.
