To lead the sustainable transformation is one pillar of Tetra Pak’s strategy. Materials Solutions at D&E Materials and Package is looking into new technologies to build the next generation of sustainable packaging materials. Identify and define material properties and define the architecture for the future packaging material is the core of future material developments.

We are looking for a new Development Engineer to join our Development and Engineering organization at Tetra Pak. As Development Engineer, you will be part of our Next Generation & Sustainable Materials Team that drives packaging material developments in the above area together with the program developing sustainable packaging materials. Our main responsibilities are to scout for new technologies, drive technical studies and supplier collaborations, develop technologies and products within the field of sustainable materials and converting to be used for the packaging material that our packages are made of.

What you will do:
Our new Development Engineer will design, evaluate, validate and document innovative packaging material solutions.
• You will drive technical studies and supplier collaborations, in joint developments with suppliers you will be the project leader from Tetra Pak.
• You and your study team will together with the supplier team define, plan and execute test to develop new materials and technologies.
• You will be responsible of communicating with the supplier project team, internal and external stakeholders and to report to the joint steering group of the project.
• You will lead the study team at Tetra Pak and work closely with area specialist.
• You will also contribute to our agile development projects as a team member.


This is a permanent position based in Lund, Sweden.
But you will work in a global arena. Some traveling is required.
You will be reporting to the manager Next Generation & Sustainable Materials.

We are looking for a development engineer, with some relevant work experience related to the job required.


We believe you have:
· Masters within Materials Engineering or similar.
· Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working with New Materials Development.
· Experience of Project Management and various Packaging Materials is meritorious.
· Experience of early phase development, studies, is considered meritorious.
· Previous experience from food-, packaging- or similar industry is meritorious.
· Fluent English both written and verbally is expected and necessary.
