We are looking for a senior Development Engineer, who will be a part of the team Next generation & Sustainable Material. Our main task is to drive development of new sustainable packaging material. Our main responsibilities are to scout for new technologies, drive technical studies and supplier collaborations, develop technologies and products within the field of sustainable materials and converting to be used for the packaging material that our packages are made of.


To lead the sustainable transformation is one pillar of Tetra Pak’s strategy. Materials Solutions at D&E Materials and Package is looking into new technologies to build the next generation of sustainable packaging materials.
In this role as Development engineer you will work with Material Design which is a key competence area within Tetra Pak. Identify and define material properties and define the architecture for the future packaging material is the core of future material developments.

This is a permanent position located in Lund, Sweden. Some travelling is required.

What you will do
As a Development Engineer, you will:
Drive the development of material solutions in early development as well as in product development activities close to market.
Be part of a cross-functional Scrum team and work closely with labs, converting factories and specialists.
Drive technical studies and supplier collaborations.
Independently, as well as with your technical team, build knowledge, solve problems, and verify solutions.
Coach, inspire and share technical knowledge with your colleagues.



Who you are

Also, you are an independent, but collaborative and communicative person who easily builds and maintains successful relations with your direct team, important stakeholders, and external partners.
Furthermore, you can adjust to the situation and comfortably handle risk and uncertainty. In addition, you have the interest and ability to handle the big picture in deliverables at the same time as being interested in technical details.


We believe you have:
Educational background with a Master of Science in Engineering related to materials.
At least 5-10 years of working experience within material or packaging development.
Very good command of English, both written and verbal is a must, since you will act in a global arena.
Skills and experiences within project management and the agile way of working is a plus.
