Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Defence Truck Development, develops customer adaptations for defence purposes and produces technical data in procurements of defence-adapted trucks.

Our group

Our group, RSDC consists of both employees and consultants where we work together in a cross-functional, dynamic and exciting environment close to the market and the customer. Right now we are in an intensive period working with industrialisation of ongoing projects with a base portfolio of products that we also will continue develope to new costomers,  we need a sharp and curious Development Engineer who take technical responsibility for the development assignments to meet our customers requirements now and further on.

Your duties

We are divided into three areas in RSDC, where you will be part of one with a dedicated area of ​​responsibility. We support each other both within the team but also for our entire group. You will partly develop the product yourself, but also lead consultants and, if necessary, produce a work order for ordering development assignments that are part of your area of ​​responsibility. Working with demands from customer and follow up suppliers. You will get the opportunity for training in leadership since it is part of the work to lead and secure deliveries from the development assignments. As a development engineer with us, you will be in contact with the entire cab with great variety. You are constantly learning something new!  We work in fast and scalable processes and you quickly see the results of your designs.

Your profile


• You are a university or master's engineer, preferably with a few years experience in product development and who has a general profile rather than an interest in specializing in a specific area
• You are creative, solution-oriented and have an understanding and interest in how the cab as a whole and its subsystems work
• You are positive, flexible, like to investigate new roads and solutions and like to collaborate with others, both within the group but also with other cross-functions e.g. project managers, purchasing, production and suppliers etc
• You work in a structured way, like when things go fast and have your own drive
• You are results-oriented and work to achieve set goals

It is an advantage if you have previous experience from Scania with good knowledge of Scania module systems, our processes and systems. Experience with CATIA V5 is also an advantage and you feel comfortable working in both English and Swedish.
