Development Engineer to Gas Development

Development Engineer to Gas Development

Arbetsbeskrivning

Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Customized solutions for trucks is an important and growing area where Scania aims to fulfil specific customer’s demands and to enter new segments and markets.

The section RSM is responsible for the development of customized trucks in areas from alternative fuels and electrification to specialized applications such as mining, heavy haulage and fire trucks. Everything we do starts with a direct customer request.

At RSM we strive for a work environment where we help and trust each other and where all skills and experiences are utilized in the best way possible.

About the group:
Our group RSMG is specialized in trucks that have gas (compressed or liquified) as fuel. Our team work with everything from handling of requests of new products from the different markets, to development of these products and maintenance of current products. We take responsibility from idea to the actual truck leaving the gates at Scania.

Except from customer requests and orders, S-order projects for customized CNG and LNG installations, we will as owners of the LNG installations face challenges ahead with LNG S- to A-order and PCOP for LNG.

The group works as a team and has a very open climate where we share experiences openly and support each other. We have a lot of cross-functional contacts that we need and nurture.

Gas is a fast changing and needed technology area in order for Scania to drive the shift and everything we do strives to meet that need.

Your assignment
As a S-order designer you are not only developing a small part of the truck, you are building the whole truck to fulfil a certain customer demand. You are using the Scania structure and the modular system in creative ways to fulfil the demands. If needed, you will design and introduce completely new parts through Catia modelling.

The work includes cooperation with people from all over Scania, such as production, purchasing, marketing, distributors, aftermarket and other departments within R&D – hence you will develop a broad network within Scania.

Your Profile

• Graduate engineer (or similar)
• Minimum 2 years experience of product development.
• Knowledge about Scania’s products and modular system is highly meriting.
• Work experience from similar positions and tools such as OAS and Catia is also meriting.

You are positive, enjoy learning new things and like to work with varying tasks. You are good at creating team spirit and have the ability to share experiences and information with your colleagues in a generous way. You are Interested in the complete solution rather than the details. The work tasks are both individual and collaborative in a high pace which demand skills in initiative, communication and cooperation.
