Development Engineer to leading consumer electronics company.

We are looking for Development Engineer to our client who is Swedish consumer electronics company in Stadshagen. This role will start with a 6-month contract.

They offer thoughtfully designed, innovative and sustainable solutions, developed in close collaboration with professional users. The products include refrigerators, ovens, cookers, hobs, dishwashers, washing machines, vacuum cleaners, air conditioners, and small domestic appliances which they sell in 150 markets.Company has its office located in Stadshagen

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Backend Engineer with proficiency in Kotlin, preferably combined with Ktor or a similar backend framework. The candidate will become an integral part of our team working with sustainable consumer products and payments globally, and we expect technical independence on a high skill level. Furthermore, the candidate will work with end-to-end autonomy which means a good understanding of build-automation tools, version control tools and CI/CD is needed. The perfect candidate has worked with multi-regional backends, where the built system is running in multiple clusters with different time zones, on several datacenters, globally. Experience with Kubernetes is a requirement.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain robust and scalable backend services primarily using Kotlin and Ktor.
• Engage in architectural discussions and contribute to the design of a multi-regional backend.
• Maintain and manage SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Maintain and manage search clusters such as OpenSearch.
• Work on our payment & product platform and ensure fault tolerance.
• Set up CI/CD pipelines using tools like Github, Gradle & CircleCI.
• Monitor built services using tools like kubectl and services such as Sentry and Datadog.
• Mentor junior engineers, guiding them on best practices.

Required Qualifications:
• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
• 3+ years of developing in Kotlin, with extensive understanding of modern and asynchronous backend frameworks.
• Fluent in some tool or language for version control, CI/CD and build automation.
• Knowledge of how to deploy, ingress, monitor and manage backend services in a Kubernetes cluster.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Hands-on experience and understanding of payment platforms is advantageous.
• Hands-on experience and understanding of event sourcing is a bonus.
• Familiarity with AWS and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
• Familiarity with Rust and Go would be a plus.

You will be joining a team focusing on subscription products and an aftermarket sales engine. The team is responsible for developing the platform where a diverse portfolio of products is sold, all falling under the domain of repair services, insurance and sustainability.
