Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
We are now recruiting development engineers who will contribute to shape the transport systems of the future. The successful candidates will join the Motion Planning and Control group, and they will contribute to the design, development and testing of algorithms for autonomous drive.
The team
Our team is part of Scania R&D, and we focus on long term development of sustainable transport systems. We come from both academic and industrial backgrounds, and we all share the ambitious goal of drastically reducing the environmental footprint, increasing the efficiency of the entire transport system and developing solutions for eliminating traffic accidents. Each member of the team is expected to work in close cooperation with his/her colleagues and to participate in the whole software development cycle, from algorithmic design to testing in simulation and on real heavy vehicles. We strive to be a diversified team and we work in an agile work environment.
Your profile
A successful candidate must hold a Master degree in Computer Science, Robotics or a related field and a few years of relevant work experience (a PhD degree is highly meritorious). Strong analytical skills and a solid mathematical foundation are also required, as well as provable hands-on experience in designing and developing algorithms and a good understanding of computer systems. The candidate will also have several years of development experience in C++. Previous work with robotic systems and experience in other programming languages are highly desirable. Candidates must be able to work both independently and in a collaborative environment.
