Development Engineers - temporary position

Development & Engineering The D&E unit develops and produces packaging systems and distribution solutions for liquid food.The unit is part of the Tetra Pak Group which has a global coverage and key product development centres in Modena, Italy, Lund, Sweden, and Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.In Modena, Lund, and Minneapolis we provide product innovation and industrialization of packaging systems and distribution solutions including world class expertise in key competence areas as well as in raw material converting processes and equipment to our customers all around the world.To the team "New Sealing Technologies" within Packaging Technology Lund, we are looking for Development Engineers.The positions are temporary (July 2007-September 2008) and will be based in Lund.New Sealing Technologies is developing new sealing technologies and processes for Tetra Pak's existing and completely new packaging systems.We are 15 persons working in the intersection of technique areas of electro dynamics, thermo dynamics, mechanics, and material techniques (metals & polymers).Examples of techniques that are used for heating during seal process are ultrasonic, laser and inductive/capacitative heating. We are looking for dedicated and flexible engineers who like to be a part of a team, to replace our engineers who are on maternity leave.You should have both a practical and a theoretical approach as we are combining theoretical studies with practical verifications in test rigs.You also have highly developed analytical and innovative skills combined with excellent communication skills.Your main responsibilities will be: .Participation in a team that runs a technical study for a new sealing concept .Creation of theories and solutions for a specific sealing process application .Theoretic evaluation of different technologies for a specific application .Participating in planning of project .Creation of test plans, performing tests in rig, performing simulations arranging and evaluating analyses .Compilation of results and documentation in reports The persons we are looking for has a Master of Science (one person in applied physics or electrical engineering and one person in mechanical engineering).Experience from sealing processes or polymers are an asset.Furthermore experience of electromagnetic field simulation, thermo dynamic simulation, mechanical simulation, or modal analysis is an asset.You need to have a good command of English, both written and verbal.Please submit your application online at www.tetrapak.com/working no later than June 11th, 2007.
