We believe that you come with experience from IKEA retail with a good understanding of the IKEA value chain and IKEA operating model. In addition, you have minimum 5 years of experience in setting direction, developing business, and delivering results and minimum 2 years’ experience in leading and influencing teams. You have proven advanced training in Business Management or equivalent and senior experience from managing change in complex business environment. Moreover, you should also have experience from working together with external stakeholders such as local authorities and multicultural experience.
To be successful in this role, you have:
• Excellent knowledge of stakeholder management techniques
• Good knowledge of IKEA concept, brand objectives, values and vision
• Knowledge of Ingka Group strategies, priorities and strategic expansion planning process
• Excellent knowledge of the IKEA omnichannel shopping experience
• Experience of driving and implement change initiatives

Your responsibilities
In this role as Development Leader, you will take a leading role in strategic Ingka expansion planning, unleashing the total market potential with omnichannel at the core and the existing assets as the starting point, in close collaboration with specific IKEA Retail Countries and Core Business Franchise.
You will:
• Develop and follow up of the Franchise Development Agreement (FDA) for IKEA Retail countries.
• Lead the Market Penetration Plan (MPP) process for the IKEA Retail countries in alignment with relevant global functions and delivering towards market relevant expansion and profitable growth.
• Lead development initiatives part of IKEA Retail Direction (10 Jobs in 3 Years) and the IKEA Business Plan.
• Lead the Market Potential Development Programmes (MPD) for prioritized markets to deliver market development plans to capture the market potential with the aim of delivering sustainable and profitable growth.
• Take a leading role in the New Market Assessment process and advise on how to capture market potential with a total market approach with omnichannel at the core.
• Lead effective change by communicating learnings and best practices to enable entrepreneurial development and successful implementation in receiving markets.
• Take lead in working across functions within Ingka Group and collaborate with other IKEA units
• Take lead in driving an open and sharing climate, being a role model of the IKEA values
• Lead positive change, and contribute to building a more unique, inclusive and accessible IKEA - guided by the People and Planet Positive commitments
This role is based in Malmö and will report to the Development Manager, Group Expansion.

With the customer at the heart of everything we do, Group Expansion takes responsibility for strategic expansion planning enabling penetration of existing and new markets. We take the lead for business development of existing and new customer meeting points. We act on business needs and empower the markets to maximise accessibility, implement our retailing concepts and fully utilise our assets in the new world of IKEA – all at lowest cost, with economy of scale and sustained profitability.
