Description
We are looking for a passionate Development Manager that can coach and inspire our great employees in our platform development team. You will be the person to make sure that our team is ready for our mission to build the next-generation customer data platform. We use modern Big Data technologies to build a cutting-edge SaaS solution for businesses.
As a Development Manager you are one of APSIS Leaders and are expected to be a role model for APSIS' value base, represent the company and execute on decisions. You have the long term responsibility for the well being and development of the team members.
Work Description
Lead a team of developers & technical resources. Coach, mentor and inspire the team in realising their full potential both as individuals and as a team.
Run day to day development process, resource planning and leading any meetings and rituals called for based on team needs and role; work continuously to optimise this process to continuously improve efficiency and alignment with business goals.
Manage all impediments and challenges for the team, and work continuously to enhance team efficiency and developer quality of life.
People management & administration for assigned resources: success reviews, salary reviews, recruitment, employee administration (vacation schedules etc.)
Own and develop team- and system-level KPIs and metrics and drive operational excellence for assigned team. Manage team-internal continuous improvement process.
Collaborate closely with Product Management and other stakeholders to align team’s goals to overall strategy & tactics.
Embrace “servant leadership” paradigm, work proactively to support the dev team in all matters needed.
Requirements
BA/BS in a technical education program
Minimum 5 years experience managing development teams. Proven ability to lead and inspire senior developers
Developer-centric mindset
Ability to understand developer work, ability to understand at conceptual level distributed systems architectures. The role does not include hands-on development, but candidates are expected to have hands-on development experience from similar systems / fields previously in their career
Strong sense of responsibility and inclination for taking ownership and proactively working to solve any challenges as they arise.
Cross-discipline skill set encompassing both technical and leadership competence, and predisposition to embracing both strategic and operational responsibilities
Demonstrated ability to speak, read and write English at professional level, at APSIS English is our company language
Bonus points for
Experience from working as a developer or other technical IT role at above junior level
Startup experience
Experience from distributed systems & big data processing
Experience with AWS and “microservice” organisations
