All our development work has different aspects of the critical interface between man and machine but has the same goal; to replace labor-intensive manual steps with state-of-the-art digital counterparts to automate and simplify the process of performing blood and body fluid differentials. The Application teams at CellaVision develop the algorithms in our analyzers that automatically locate and pre-classify cells.
About the role
As Development Manager in CellaVision's Devices & Software division, you are responsible for leading one of CellaVisions highly skilled Applications teams developing software applications for our leading systems used in health care services around the globe. The team consists of ten Software Engineers and a Test Leader, where the team owns and manages a well-defined part of CellaVision's system and is responsible for both development of new products and features as well as product care.
The Development Manager is technically responsible for the team's delivery and product quality, making sure that products and product changes can be manufactured. We use an agile approach where the team takes responsibility for all new functionality - from algorithm development, implementation, code reviewing, testing and documentation.
Development Manager reports to Director Software & Applications.
Key responsibilities
- Work closely with the team's Product Manager and Test Leader to best drive the team's work in accordance with the needs of CellaVision and CellaVision customers, both on short- and long-term.
- Plan the team's activities in consultation with Product Manager and be helpful in prioritization.
- Be a driving force in further developing working methodology and processes in an agile direction.
- Collaborate with other development managers to gain an overall understanding of CellaVision's direction and goals.
- Contribute to the development of the Devices & Software division to ensure employee competence and efficiency on short- and long-term.
- Comprehensive staff responsibility including setting goals, conducting appraisals, setting salary, recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, work environment responsibility etc.
- Assist employees with knowledge and a coaching leadership while leading and developing your employees.
- Assist Product Manager in following market trends/competitors and continuously keep up to date for CellaVision to develop products that are optimal for the customer
About you
You understand the value of a coaching leadership, where you lead, motivate, and provide others with the powers required to effectively achieve common goals. You are skilled in creating commitment within your team and have a big interest in coaching and supporting people in their professional development. You are result oriented and identify goals, carry out activities and work focused to achieve the desired result. You are used to take an extra responsibility, show fighting spirit, and tackle challenges in your everyday work. You act stable in stressful situations and have a well-developed ability to prioritize and focus on the most important tasks.
Your experience
- M.Sc. in Engineering within appropriate field
- Experience leading a team within a development project, either as a manager, project leader, scrum master or a similar informal leader role
- Experience and insights from high-tech and complex products
- Experience in assisting and further develop the work of a research and development organization
- Good English communication skills, verbal and written
Meritorious
- Experience working in the medtech industry or a similar regulated environment
