Development Operations Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented DevOps engineer with strong skills in automation and deployment to help build the next generation of e-commerce applications. You will collaborate with teams that include developers and non-developers to shape the functionality and user experience of mobile and desktop products hosted in the cloud for one of the largest enterprise software companies in the world.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Work in a product development team side by side with Product Managers, Product Owners, Information Architects, UX/UI Designers to develop new applications for Cloud deployment.
*Collaborate with developers and non-developers to find the most efficient, effective solutions from all perspectives.
*Automate deployment and continuous integration. Develop tools and create improved workflows that will be used by on and off-site teams. Updating and improving existing applications.
*Ability to work independently and with others in Agile team local and globally.
*Develop reusable modules, and frameworks to further automate our workflow. Discover and experiment with new technologies and share with the team.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
*2+ years hands-on DevOps experience in a professional environment
*Computer Science degree or relevant experience


REQUIRED SKILLS:
*Expert knowledge of Java and other programming and scripting languages
*Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and AWS features
*Knowledge of SQL databases, such as PostgreSQL, MSSQL, and caching solutions like Redis
*Able to create and evolve database schemas
*Java project automation tools like Maven/Gradle
*Continuous integration and deployment tools (Jenkins, Travis Cl, Nexus, Bamboo or similar)
*Experience with version control systems (Git or SVN)
*Solid ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
*Excellent creative problem solving skills
*Can verbally and diagrammatically communicate complex technical concepts to colleagues and non-technical stakeholders, good English verbal and written skills, as it is the language you will be using daily
*Passion for innovative technologies


PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
*Experience with scaling and load balancing in the cloud
*Experience with configuration management software like SaltStack
*Experience with virtualization technologies like VMWare, EC2
*Experience with RESTful APIs
*Experience with load / performance testing and tools like JMeter
*Experience with CMS development
*Experience with e-commerce
