What you will be a part of
Avionics Systems develops and manufactures qualified electronics, mechanics and software for demanding applications in aircraft and helicopters. Many of these products are developed in collaboration with other parts of Saab or external partners. Our portfolio includes for example Head-Up Display Systems, Mission and Graphics Computers with applications and Control and actuation systems. Most of our projects are carried out in an international environment and we supply products for Gripen and for two of the world’s largest commercial aircraft manufacturers, Airbus and Boeing. Avionics Systems has over 300 employees.
Common Engineering is responsible for engineering competences, resources in a variety of areas, Software, Electronics and PLD, Test Equipment and Qualification, Team management, Customer Support and ILS. Common Engineering is responsible for the Centre of Excellence Computers, Video and Graphics. Another important area of responsibility is the Avionics Systems Development Processes, Methods and Tools (PM&T).



Your role
As a competitive supplier in the global avioncs market, we constantly need to improve the way we develop our products and systems. The challenge is to combine the demands for high quality and compliance with the airborne systems and equipment certification regulations with cost efficiency and short lead time requirements. As our portolio and market needs develops, we must also develop our ways of working.
There are local PM&T drivers within Common Engineering for different development areas, such as Systems Engineering, SW, Electronics, etc. Your task is to take lead and coordinate the development of processes, methods and the use of tools. This will mean both to drive and coordinate continous improvement projects and activities, but also to look into the future needs for greater leaps. This will be done in close cooperation with the PM&T local drivers, the Product Areas responsible for the products and customer projects and Quality and Opex among others.
You will report to the Head of Common Engineering and be a member of the Common Engineering management team

We are looking for a person with excellent change and communcation leadership skills in order to create commitment within the organisation.
 Today's demands

Appropriate professional or postgraduate qualification in a technical discipline.
Strong business understanding and customer focus.
Understanding and ability to work in an international environment and matrix organisation.
Proven ability and interest in leading, developing and challenging the organization, management teams and employees.
Strong drive, perseverance and ability to generate energy.
Fluent in written and spoken Swedish and English
