Development Project Leader

IKEA Components task within IKEA is to pursue the development of future unique and customer friendly solutions within fittings and components to the IKEA range. We have also an assignment to develop and improve the Retail Equipment range, used in all our customer meeting points around the world.

We create substantial cost and quality benefits for IKEA in our development and trade of raw materials, components, and fittings. IKEA Components is part of the Inter IKEA group and shares the IKEA vision and values. Our business is global, and we are 1500 employees based in Sweden, Slovakia and China. Through co-operation with IKEA Purchasing Offices, we are in addition represented at several other sites around the world.

In IKEA we believe in the concept of Democratic Design. This means that we always find ways to do things better and reach more of the many people, and in the role of Development Project Leader you can truly contribute to this. We have today two different businesses where the Development Project Leader contribute, the component business and the retail equipment business.

In the component business you will lead the development of new component solutions as well as finding and recommending existing solutions into new IKEA products. While in the retail equipment business you will lead the development of the total retail equipment product.

You are the natural link between Range & Engineering resources within IKEA Components and the stakeholders in IKEA Of Sweden or Core Business Franchise. 

The role as a Development Project Leader is a mix of leading technical development and leading business startups. You can lead with a holistic view throughout the IKEA supply chain, all with the purpose of maximizing the benefit for IKEA and our customers. 

About the assignment
•    Lead the development of new component solutions or retail equipment products – end to end 
•    Actively steer to our selected range and solutions
•    Collect and define demands, needs and expectations in the development process
•    Plan the project to meet goals and gates
•    Support in the strategic planning and creation of Business plans and Action plans.

IKEA of Sweden and Core Business Franchise are both truly global environments, with colleagues from all over the world and you therefore need to be fluent in English both verbal and written at the latest 19th of December 2021.
The position is located in Älmhult, Sweden. Älmhult has excellent commuting possibilities with hourly trains to Malmö, Lund and Växjö and an IKEA shuttle bus back and forth to Helsingborg two times a day.
