We have two exciting opportunities for a Device Technical Manager or a Senior Device Engineer, depending on your background, to join our Device Team. This position will be based at our site in Södertälje, Sweden.

The Inhalation Product Development (IPD) On-Market (OM) function has the capability to support all inhalation combination products at AstraZeneca, accountable for the marketed products and supporting the new products in pipe-line. It is a global function with team members in US, Sweden, UK and France.

The Device team is a part of IPD OM and provides expert technical support within device design and material selection, device manufacturing and testing, post markets surveillance and compliance to current legislations. The device team today is an established team of 10 Device Technical Leads and experts and the plan is to strengthen the team in strategic areas, such as material and manufacturing technology as well as device ownership, i.e. compliance to current legislations.

The role
You will lead or participate in cross-functional project teams internally or together with our plastic component suppliers. Depending on your experience you will either focus on device design including qualification, documentation and test method development or you will focus on supporting investment projects for tools and assembly lines, incl support to development projects.

The work will include (depending on role/experience):

- Initiate and manage device improvement projects
- Device material qualification
- Cooperation with external suppliers
- Technical expert in complaint investigations at our suppliers
- Ensure device compliance to current legislations
- Participate or lead test method development and test equipment projects
- Support development projects in design drawings and tool projects
- Participate as SME in investment projects for tools and assembly lines

Essential for the role
- MSc degree or equivalent in Material Science or Machine technology
- Strong problem solving and communication skills
- A "can do" attitude with experience of delivering successful project outcomes on time
- Experience in technical writing and data analysis


Desirable for the role
- Experience from combination product or medical device design or manufacturing
- Experience from CAD design and plastic component manufacturing
